Fitzroy Falls are situated in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales near a small village with the same name and not faraway Kangaroo Valley.
First Europian sighting was in the early 1800s by Charles Throsby. Fitzroy Falls was named after the New South Wales Governor Fitzroy in 1850. Fizroy Falls is a popular stopping point for tourists traveling towards the Highlands.
